Does anyone know what Tabete Level means on the Omakase website? I ended up getting a Level 14 (after booking 7 restaurants), but I have no idea if there are any benefits to that or what that entails. The website is not really clear. I'm just wondering whether it is actually worth trying to maintain or just letting it go back down to 0 since I'm not going to be back in Japan in the next 6 months.

guest
I am now at level 43, everything looks the same with me and I honestly don't observe any advantage over booking.

How is Sushi Saito. Is it worth the money?
Same question with Sushi Arai.
I also booked Hatsunezushi. What are the thoughts on that?

Hi all, has anyone been to yorozu hanare and how does it compares to other shops? Or even yorozu in particular?

Leo Saito
The vibe may be casual, but the sushi concept is the same as Yorozu.
The rice is firm and on the sour side.
Great value for money and extremely satisfying.

guest
Sounds great! Thanks, will give it a go.

I saw inomata's new store is opening with a 66k yen course. Would anyone be visiting soon and be able to share a review?

thetokyogourmet
https://thetokyogourmet.blogspot.com/I won't be. 66k + service is a stupid amount of money for nigiri-only sushi. Every time a new sushi restaurant opens up in Tokyo charging 40 or 50k+ it pushes up prices everywhere else because everyone is competing for the best neta. It's time the sushi bubble bursts.

guest
I just visited and I would revisit again, but maybe cause I have an affinity for Inomata. I think there is a difference between the neta when compared to other places charging 30-40k. I think most of the better places are charging over 50k now. But the weak yen compensates a little for the sushi inflation.

guest
Comical considering Sugita charges 44k yen + service. Never thought I'd be saying that Sugita and Namba are the cheapest of the top omakases but it's not even close now and it's only getting higher.

guest
If you ask this question, that means you care about the amount you pay. If this is the case you shouldn't go as 66k+ is clearly insane as mentioned by other people in the thread.
If you really doesn't care 66k then why not go. At the end you can make up a lot of reasons to justify your own decision like the first "guest" reply.

Has Inomata reopened? Omakase still says it is temporarily closed.

According to people who posted on both Red Note and Reddit, Konimachi Nihei currently does not allow photos. 18 pieces nigiri for the main set. If you add on sushi and drinks, then the total cost will go past 70,000 yen. Because Inomata san has to be at this new location full time, the Kawaguchi shop has to remain closed for the time being. It is likely that until he can find someone to be the main chef at one of the locations and perform consistently, then it would be difficult to maintain two restaurants at the same time. As to whether this price point is worth it or not, you can all decide for yourselves. I have also heard the quality is just as good as the original shop. But regardless, there will always be wealthy jet setters from all over the world as well as residents or local workers or foreign students willing to pay no matter the price.

I forgot to login so the first guest reply was me, Agreed that theres better value at Sugita, but unfortunately for most its impossible to get in. I personally prefer Inomata over Nanba. For Cost Performance I think Sushi Yuki is pretty good. Inomata reopened under the name Kojimachi Nihee book on Omakase.

Agreed -- Sushi Yuki seems under-the-radar. Really high quality considering the cost and ease of booking a reservation. I had a great time there.
Sushi Inomata was good, but I'm not sure whether it is 66k yen good. I think that's pricier than Namba via Tableall. (I say this as a person who liked Namba better than Inomata; I felt there were higher highs at Namba)

Anyone been to Ayumi by Yamazaki sous chefs? If so, wondering if it's worth visiting

guest
I have been to Ayumi once and Yamazaki once, I didnt notice any noticeable difference in taste but it wasnt during the same season. Maybe the ingredients are a bit different. I would recommend you try Ayumi, relatively easy to book. Rarely see bookings available for Yamazaki.
